Heads
 Gamakatsu
has been making jig hooks for a long time but now will introduce
a full line of jig heads. Gamakatsu is introducing 6 styles of jig
heads with some unique features including keepers that won’t
tear up the bait like the big lead barbs on some jig heads. Below
is a breakdown of the 6 jig head styles and their features:
Cobra
27
The
Cobra 27 comes in sizes 1/0 with a ¼ oz. Head, a 2/0
with a 3/8 oz. Head and a 3/0 with a ½ oz. Head all attached
to a heavy duty hook with Gamakatsu’s sticky sharp point.
In addition to the unique head design, the Cobra 27 comes packed
with 5 filament brush guards that can be inserted into the Cobra’s
pre-drilled head and with a drop of glue becomes instantly weedless.
This leaves the weedless option up to the angler. |

Darter

This
leaves the weedless option up to the angler. This Darter
head also features an optional weedguard system like the
Cobra heads. They come packed with 5 monofilament brush
guards that fit into a holder located just behind the hook
eye. Each Darter comes equipped with a sticky sharp NS Black
Gamakatsu hook and two tapered keeper rings that hold the
bait firm without tearing it apart. Available in a 2/0 with
a 1/8 oz. head, 2/0 hook with a 3/16 oz. head, a 3/0 hook
with a ¼ oz. head and a 3/0 hook with a 3/8 oz. head.

The
football design is a popular one and this football head is sure
to become very popular. The Football 24 is built with a super
strong thin wire hook for fast penetration is available in a
size 1/0 with a 3/16 oz. Head, a 2/0 with a ¼ oz. Head,
a 2/0 with a 3/8 oz. Head and a 3/0 with a ½ oz. Head. |

211
This
is a very unique little jig head design that features a short
shank hook with a beak point and a matte black finish. Similar
to an Octopus hook with a 90 degree jig head. It’s perfect
for leaches, minnows, grubs, and finesse plastics. It comes
in hook sizes 2 and 1 with each size featuring a 1/32 oz.,
1/16 oz., or 1/8 oz. Round head.

The
tube 25 is an ideal hook for finesse tubes and other hollow
baits. This hook uses a sleek head design to fit inside tubes
and features a strong size 2 hook with a corrosion resistant
NS Black finish. The weights available are 1/32 oz., 1/16 oz.,
and 1/8 oz. |

standard all around jig head design, it features a long shank
90 degree jig hook and a round head with two keeper rings
to prevent the bait from sliding off, but won’t tear
up thinner, softer baits. The NS Black hook comes in size
1/0 with a 1/16 oz., 1/8 oz., 2/0 with a 3/16 oz., ¼
oz., and 3/0 with a 3/16 oz. and a ¼ oz. well finished
round head.
